MET Message Format

Header: MET [valid hours] [DTG]

Line format: [Line#] [WindDir] [WindSpd] [Temp] [Pressure]

  • Line#: 00-15 (altitude zone, 00 = surface)
  • WindDir: 4 digits in mils (0000-6400), direction wind is FROM
  • WindSpd: Speed in knots
  • Temp: Temperature in Celsius (+/- prefix)
  • Pressure: Pressure in hPa/millibars (optional)

Wind components: Enter GT direction to calculate headwind (+ = against, - = with) and crosswind (+ = from right, - = from left).
