Shift from Known Point

Calculate a new target location from a known point using polar or grid shift.

Calculate a target location by shifting from a known point. Use polar shift (direction and distance) or grid shift (LEFT/RIGHT and ADD/DROP).

Shift Methods

Polar Shift:

Give direction (in mils) and distance (in meters) from the known point to the target.

Grid Shift:

Give LEFT/RIGHT and ADD/DROP corrections relative to your line of sight (OT direction).

  • LEFT/RIGHT: Perpendicular to your OT direction
  • ADD: Further away from you (along OT direction)
  • DROP: Closer to you (opposite OT direction)
